Some bowlers seem destined to take 300 wickets in their careers. Ravindra Jadeja was never considered one of them, which makes his achievement even sweeter when he reached the milestone.

When Jadeja made his Test debut in 2012 against England, many dismissed it as favoritism due to his close relationship with then-captain MS Dhoni or flawed selection policies. If anyone had predicted that Jadeja would surpass the records of the legendary spin quartet, score more runs and centuries than Yuvraj Singh or Wasim Jaffer, and become one of India’s greatest all-rounders, they would have been ridiculed.

This skepticism makes his journey even more remarkable. Jadeja evolved his bowling by adding new elements—changing his pace, varying angles, and using the crease differently. He learned to outsmart batsmen not just with speed, but also with accuracy and deception.

Jadeja has often been misunderstood. He might show off his wealth—cars, horses, and royal lineage—but at heart, he represents the spirit of a hardworking middle-class person. His bold attitude made him an easy target for trolls and criticism. He was blamed for several defeats, especially after the 2010 T20 World Cup. Many would have crumbled under such pressure, but Jadeja fought through it all and emerged stronger.

jadeja become the seventh Indian to take 300 Test wickets

The ongoing India vs Bangladesh 2 test match series, Ravindra Jadeja became the first Indian left arm spinner to take 300 test wickets in Test cricket. The all rounder became the second fastest player who scored 3000 test runs and scalped 300 test wickets. It is a huge achievement for him and he joins the elite list in the history of cricket.
