Nayab Singh Saini will be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Haryana today, October 17, during a special ceremony that will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and other top BJP leaders.

The event will take place at 1 p.m. in Panchkula. Along with the Prime Minister, Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, and former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will also be present, along with chief ministers and their deputies from other BJP-led states. It is expected that Saini's cabinet ministers will also be sworn in at this ceremony. Haryana can have up to 14 ministers, including the Chief Minister.

Saini became the Chief Minister after replacing his mentor, Khattar, and led the BJP to a historic win in the Haryana Assembly elections on October 5, where the party secured 48 out of 90 seats, giving them a third consecutive term.

The 54-year-old Dalit leader won the Ladwa seat in Kurukshetra district and was chosen as the BJP’s legislature party leader in Haryana. Afterward, he met Governor Bandaru Dattatreya to claim the right to form the new government.

This will be Saini's second time taking the oath as Chief Minister. Haryana BJP chief Mohan Lal Badoli mentioned that leaders from the BJP, opposition figures, social organizations, and "progressive farmers" will also attend the event.

To ensure security for the swearing-in ceremony, extensive arrangements have been made, and about 50,000 people are expected to attend. Fourteen large LED screens will be set up at the venue so spectators can watch the event. A traffic advisory has also been issued to manage the crowd.

After the ceremony, PM Modi will hold an important meeting with National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders at Hotel Lalit in Panchkula from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
