Congress leader Rahul Gandhi faced criticism from the BJP on Tuesday for allegedly disrespecting President Droupadi Murmu during the Constitution Day celebrations in Parliament. The BJP accused him of not greeting the President and appearing distracted during the national anthem.

BJP leader Amit Malviya shared two videos from the event. In one, Rahul Gandhi is seen glancing sideways while other leaders stood straight during the national anthem. Another video shows him attempting to sit while the President and others remained standing, and later leaving the stage without greeting her.

Malviya criticized Gandhi, saying, "Rahul Gandhi can't focus for even 50 seconds and has the audacity to insult others," referencing his earlier comment about U.S. President Joe Biden's memory. Malviya also alleged that the Congress disrespects President Murmu because she is the first tribal woman to hold the position, accusing the Gandhi family of bias against SC, ST, and OBC communities.

The incident sparked online debates. Some claimed Gandhi’s actions reflected bias against the President, while others called it arrogance or frustration after Congress’s defeat in the Maharashtra elections. Rahul Gandhi and Congress leaders have not yet responded to the allegations.
