Mahindra has recently unveiled two exciting electric SUVs – the Mahindra BE 6e and the Mahindra XEV 9e, both set to hit the Indian market in 2025. These vehicles are based on the company’s new electric-only INGLO platform, which is designed to offer cutting-edge technology and performance.

Key Features of Mahindra BE 6e and XEV 9e

Both the Mahindra BE 6e and XEV 9e are packed with impressive features, starting with the company’s Adrenox software, a 360-degree camera, an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), and a panoramic glass roof for an elevated driving experience. The BE 6e boasts a modern, sporty design tailored for younger consumers, while the XEV 9e offers the more traditional SUV look, ideal for families seeking a comfortable ride.

In terms of interior displays, the BE 6e is equipped with a twin 12.3-inch screen setup, while the XEV 9e features a unique three-screen system, both providing a sleek, tech-forward dashboard. Both models come with Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries, available in 59 kWh and 79 kWh variants, delivering a rear-wheel drive experience with power outputs ranging from 228 to 282 horsepower.

Performance and Battery Range

One of the standout features of these electric SUVs is their fast-charging capability, utilizing a 175 kW DC charger. This allows the vehicles to charge from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes, making them highly efficient for long-distance drives. With a certified ARAI range of 682 km on a single charge, both vehicles promise to deliver excellent range, making them a strong contender in the electric SUV market.

Safety Features

Safety is a key priority with Mahindra’s new electric SUVs. The BE 6e and XEV 9e come with a protective cage-like structure around the passenger cabin made of boron steel, reinforcing the frontal structures to provide additional safety. Additionally, both models are equipped with seven airbags, ensuring that passengers are well-protected in the event of an accident.

Price and Competition

The Mahindra BE 6e is expected to be priced at around Rs. 24 lakhs, offering great value for its class. On the other hand, the Mahindra XEV 9e will be priced at Rs. 35 lakhs. These pricing strategies make the new electric SUVs highly competitive, especially considering their advanced features, performance, and safety capabilities.

However, the real challenge will be competing against established electric models in the Indian market, such as the Tata Curvv EV and MG ZS EV, both of which are strong players in the electric vehicle segment. It will be interesting to see how Mahindra's new offerings perform in the market when they launch in 2025.

Conclusion

With their impressive features, powerful performance, and competitive pricing, the Mahindra BE 6e and XEV 9e are set to redefine the electric SUV landscape in India. As the country continues to move toward electric mobility, these models from Mahindra offer a promising glimpse into the future of electric vehicles in India.
