South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada became the fastest cricketer to reach 300 Test wickets during the first Test against Bangladesh in Dhaka on Monday. After Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bat, South African bowlers, including Rabada, took advantage of the pitch conditions.

Rabada made a significant impact by taking the wickets of Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Das. With this performance, he reached the milestone of 300 Test wickets by bowling just 11,817 balls. This achievement surpassed the previous record held by Waqar Younis, who took 12,602 balls to reach the same milestone, making Rabada the first bowler to reach 300 wickets in under 12,000 deliveries.

He ended the first innings with figures of 3 wickets for 26 runs in 11 overs, maintaining an economy rate of 2.40. Bangladesh was eventually all out for just 106 runs, with Rabada, Wiaan Mulder, and Keshav Maharaj each taking three wickets.
