Pappu Yadav, an Independent MP from Purnia, Bihar, has reportedly received a death threat from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. In an audio message, the caller warned Yadav to stay away from matters involving Bollywood actor Salman Khan, saying his actions were being closely watched.
The threat came days after Yadav posted on social media, offering support to Salman Khan amid threats from the Bishnoi gang. Yadav openly challenged the gang after they claimed responsibility for killing NCP leader Baba Siddique, a close associate of Salman Khan, in Mumbai.
Yadav said he could dismantle the influence of "a small-time criminal" like Lawrence Bishnoi within 24 hours if given permission. He questioned the government's ability to protect its leaders, saying, "If the government can't protect someone like Siddique, what hope is there for regular people?"
In Mumbai, Yadav met Zeeshan Siddique, son of the late Baba Siddique, and tried to arrange a meeting with Salman Khan, but it couldn't happen due to the actor’s filming schedule. Yadav tweeted that he assured Khan over the phone, saying, "I am here for you." He praised Khan for his courage and commitment to his work and humanity.
THREAT TO PAPPU YADAV
On Monday, Pappu Yadav said he received a threatening call from someone claiming to be with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The caller alleged that Lawrence Bishnoi, currently in Sabarmati Jail in Ahmedabad, was paying Rs 1 lakh per hour to disable signal jammers so he could speak directly with Yadav, who he claimed had been ignoring their calls.
In a recorded message, the caller said, “You could have told ‘bhai’ (Lawrence Bishnoi) that the media caused this issue, not me. Resolve the matter soon. I respected you like an elder brother, but you've let me down. Call back, and I’ll connect you with ‘bhai.’”
Yadav reported the threat to Bihar’s Director General of Police (DGP) and asked for immediate action. He also requested Union Home Minister Amit Shah to upgrade his security, pointing to the danger from the Bishnoi gang.
Yadav currently has ‘Y’ level security. Purnia's Superintendent of Police, Karthikeya Sharma, said additional security measures will be considered after an official review.
