Comedian Kunal Kamra joked on Monday that he had “no choice” but to accept an offer from Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal to work at Ola's service center—if the company agreed to four conditions. This offer came after a recent online exchange between Kamra and Aggarwal, where Kamra had criticized the growing number of Ola Electric scooters piling up outside what looked like an Ola store. In response, Aggarwal invited Kamra to come work at the service center, saying he’d “pay better than your flop shows” (a dig at Kamra’s comedy shows).
Kamra's response on Monday was his way of “accepting” Aggarwal's offer. He tweeted, “I have no choice but to accept @bhash’s offer to work with Ola. After being tagged thousands of times, I feel like an Ola employee anyway. Ola can make this official by agreeing to these action points.”
Kamra’s conditions include:
-
Service Completion in 7 Days: Ola must promise to complete all scooter repairs within seven business days at authorized service centers.
-
Temporary Replacement or Reimbursement: If repairs take longer than seven days, customers should get either a replacement scooter or Rs 500 per day to cover travel costs until repairs are finished. Additionally, for each day of delay beyond seven days, customers should get Rs 500 (up to Rs 50,000).
-
Service Insurance: Every new Ola Electric scooter should come with two types of insurance: one for the scooter itself and one for services. The service insurance should be free for customers.
With these conditions, Kamra playfully expressed his readiness to “join” Ola if these improvements were made.
