Gautam Singhania, chairman and managing director of Raymond, criticized Lamborghini’s India and Asia heads for not contacting him after he reported that a Lamborghini Revuelto broke down during a test drive in Mumbai on October 3. Singhania expressed frustration, stating on LinkedIn, "I’m shocked at the arrogance of India head Sharad Agarwal and Asia head Francesco Scardaoni. Neither of them has reached out to address any customer issues." He mentioned he’d been facing issues with the luxury car within 15 days of delivery.
Known for his luxurious lifestyle and collection of high-end cars, 59-year-old Singhania owns models like the Ferrari 458, Audi Q7, LP570 Superleggera, Nissan Skyline GT-R, and Lamborghini Gallardo.
Many on social media were disappointed by Lamborghini's lack of response. Sanjeev Mulchandani, a senior executive, commented that it was "disheartening" to see a luxury brand ignore customer care, especially as India’s luxury car market is growing. He suggested that brands like Lamborghini should focus more on building respectful, personalized connections with Indian customers.
Real estate coach Girish Chhalwani added that leaders should be proactive in addressing customer concerns, as Indian brands are becoming popular for their customer engagement.
Singhania had earlier shared on X that the Lamborghini Revuelto he tested broke down due to an electrical failure on the trans-harbour link. "It’s a brand-new car. Are there reliability concerns? This is the third report I’ve heard of issues within 15 days of delivery," he wrote.
Lamborghini has yet to respond to the incident.
