A fire broke out at a Tata Electronics factory in Tamil Nadu on Saturday, leading authorities to start a forensic investigation into what caused it. The factory makes parts for Apple iPhones and is not expected to reopen by Monday.
The fire started in a chemical storage area of the facility in Hosur, according to a fire official. Although the fire has been fully extinguished and the smoke cleared, there are concerns about safety measures at the factory.
Two workers were hospitalized due to the fire but are expected to be discharged on Sunday. Thankfully, no one died in the incident.

K.M. Sarayu, a district official, mentioned that investigators can now enter the site, and a forensic team from Chennai has been sent to help.
This incident is one of several challenges faced by Apple suppliers in India as the company works to diversify its supply chain and explore growth opportunities in the market.
Neither Tata Electronics nor Apple responded to requests for comments after regular business hours. Tata Electronics had previously stated that it was looking into the cause of the fire and would take steps to ensure the safety of its employees and stakeholders.
The factory was closed on Sunday for its weekly holiday, and it is unclear if the fire affected nearby buildings, including one that is set to start assembling iPhones by the end of the year.
