Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal recently decided to spend a day as a delivery agent, but his experience was not without challenges. While attempting to collect an order from a popular mall in Gurugram, he was denied access to the mall entrance and the elevator. Instead, Goyal had to climb the stairs from a different entrance to pick up his delivery package from an eatery.

Accompanied by his wife, Grecia Munoz, Goyal took on the role of a delivery executive to better understand the difficulties faced by delivery agents. When he entered Ambience Mall wearing a Zomato delivery uniform, a security guard stopped him and directed him to use another entrance, forcing him to take the stairs.

In a video he shared, Goyal stressed the importance of malls treating delivery agents with more respect and working together to improve their working conditions. He tweeted, "During my second order, I realized that we need to work with malls more closely to improve working conditions for all delivery partners. Malls also need to be more humane to delivery partners."

Goyal also noted that when he arrived at Ambience Mall to collect an order from Haldiram's, there were no elevators available for delivery partners. After climbing to the third floor, he discovered that delivery agents often have to wait on the stairs for their orders.

In the video, Goyal is seen sitting on the floor with fellow delivery partners, gathering feedback from them. He regularly shares photos and videos of himself collecting and delivering orders to highlight their experiences.
