Police have claimed that shooters connected to NCP leader Baba Siddique were in contact with Lawrence Bishnoi's brother, Anmol Bishnoi, before they killed him.
The accused used multiple Snapchat accounts to communicate with Anmol, although the reason for the murder is still unclear. Baba Siddique was shot dead outside his son Zeeshan Siddique's office while celebrating Dussehra with firecrackers.
A member of the gang posted on Facebook, saying they targeted Siddique because of his close ties to actor Salman Khan and alleged connections to underworld figures like Dawood Ibrahim. Anmol was communicating with the shooters from Canada and America, and police have recovered four mobile phones from them.
According to the Crime Branch of the Mumbai Police, the shooters used Snapchat to stay in touch and would delete messages right after reading them. An examination of the Snapchat accounts showed direct communication between the shooters and Anmol Bishnoi.
Pravin Lonkar is believed to have provided support to the three shooters. Two of the shooters have been arrested, while one is still on the run.
The Mumbai Police previously stated that the conspirators communicated with the shooters through Snapchat. They also found a photo of Zeeshan Siddique on the shooters' phones, which Anmol Bishnoi had sent via Snapchat.
So far, police have arrested ten people in connection with Baba Siddique's murder, including two shooters and a supplier of weapons. The shooters had been scouting Zeeshan's office before they attacked Baba Siddique.
The three shooters learned how to use firearms by watching tutorial videos on YouTube while living in a rented place in Mumbai's Kurla area. The police said that the shooters practiced at least five times before carrying out the attack.
