A powerful explosion outside a CRPF school in Rohini, north Delhi, created a large hole in the school's wall, according to an FIR. The blast, which occurred at 7:40 am on Sunday in Prashant Vihar, led to a loud noise, with nearby shops' windows and signboards damaged. White smoke rose from the site, and white powder was found scattered around. Forensic teams collected samples to figure out the cause.
The person who first reported the explosion, Akash Kumar, was questioned by police as part of the investigation. The police believe the explosion was caused by a low-intensity IED (Improvised Explosive Device) controlled by a timer or remote, but without shrapnel or ball bearings. Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported.
The blast not only damaged the school’s wall but also shattered nearby windows and damaged several parked cars. The explosion's sound was heard up to two kilometers away.
A pro-Khalistani group claimed responsibility for the explosion, and Delhi Police are investigating this connection. They are working with social media platforms, including Telegram, to get details about the channel where a post with a "Khalistan Zindabad" watermark and a message threatening the Indian government appeared. The group claims the blast was in retaliation for Indian agents allegedly targeting pro-Khalistani figures. An FIR has been filed against unknown persons under the Explosives Act.
