Jemima Goldsmith, the ex-wife of Pakistan's former Prime Minister Imran Khan, has made serious accusations against the government led by Shehbaz Sharif. Goldsmith said that his weekly phone calls to their sons, Sulaiman and Kasim, who live in London, were stopped on September 10, despite a court order allowing them. She also reported that the authorities turned off the lights in his cell, and he is not allowed to leave or receive meals prepared by the jail cook. He is now in complete isolation, with no contact with anyone outside. His lawyers are worried about his health and safety.
Goldsmith also accused the government of mistreating Khan’s family to silence them and any political opposition. She said that Khan’s nephew, Hassan Niazi, has been in military custody since August 2023.
